About the Scheme

From Idea to Market-Ready Champion

MSME Innovative is an amalgamation of three powerful verticals — Incubation, Design and IPR — operating with seamless interflows. It creates a single pathway for MSMEs and innovators to move from concept validation to commercialisation while protecting their intellectual assets.

Incubation

Support untapped creativity and validate ideas at proof-of-concept stage with mentoring, infrastructure and seed funding.

  • Up to ₹15 lakh per idea
  • Plant & Machinery support up to ₹1 Cr
  • Host Institutes (Universities, TCs, R&D centres)

Design

Bring manufacturing MSMEs and design expertise together for new product development, continuous improvement and value addition.

  • Design Project: up to ₹40 lakh
  • Student Design Project: up to ₹2.5 lakh
  • 75% (Micro) / 60% (Small & Medium) GoI share

IPR Protection

Strengthen IP culture through facilitation centres, advisory services and direct reimbursement for patents, trademarks, designs & GIs.

  • Domestic Patent: ₹1 lakh
  • Foreign Patent: ₹5 lakh

Eligibility

Who Can Apply

  • 1 MSMEs with valid Udyam Registration (or UAM obtained till 30.06.2020).
  • 2 Students of AICTE/UGC accredited institutions (full funding under Incubation; Student Design Projects available).
  • 3 Host Institutes — Technical Colleges, Universities, R&D Institutes, Technology Centres, NGOs involved in incubation.
  • 4 Design Consultants & Industrial Designers with relevant experience (engaged via Implementing Agencies).
  • 5 IP applicants — individuals or entities holding Udyam Registration with ownership criteria met.
Process

How to Apply

  • 1 Visit the official portal innovative.msme.gov.in and create an account.
  • 2 For Incubation: Approach a registered Host Institute (or apply to become one). DTU-IIF can guide you.
  • 3 Submit idea / design project / IP reimbursement request through the respective Implementing Agency or IPFC.
  • 4 Ideas undergo HI screening → Domain Expert Selection Committee → PMAC approval.
  • 5 Funds released in stages against milestones and Utilisation Certificates.
